Kevin Joseph writes high-concept thrillers. A graduate of Cornell University and the Duke University School of Law, Mr. Joseph practiced law for thirty years in Washington, DC, at law firms and as corporate counsel for a Fortune 100 company.
His first novel, The Champion Maker—a sci-fi thriller that explores the intersection of genetic engineering and competitive athletics—was praised as “a genuine thriller” by the Midwest Book Review, cited extensively in Dartmouth Professor Ronald Green’s non-fiction book Babies by Design, and was a finalist for the 2006 Benjamin Franklin Awards in the category of Best New Voice (Fiction). Perpetuity, a thriller about a mysterious woman with nanobots in her blood, was a 2024 Claymore Award finalist. Mr. Joseph lives with his family in McLean, Virginia, and Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. Besides writing, he enjoys reviewing books, playing classical guitar, and running barefoot on the beach.
Kevin’s new book is called Death of an Officer – London. Spring 1943. While Europe continues to suffer under the iron fist of Nazi occupation, Britain remains battered but unbowed.
DCI Frank Merlin, already contending with a booming wartime crime wave in the capital, is confronted with a baffling case: the brutal murder of a respected doctor.
Following a puzzling trail that leads him into the hidden corners of clubland – and which appears to be linked to the disappearance of both British and American officers – Merlin must untangle a dark web of shocking secrets.
